SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has settled its July butadiene (BD) contract at $2,452/tonne (€1,986/tonne), up by $424/tonne from the previous month, a company source said on Tuesday

In June, the contract price settlement was $2,028/tonne pipeline DEL (delivered).

YNCC's monthly contract price settlement is based on the average spot BD values for that particular month.

BD spot prices surged to $2,500/tonne in the week ended 13 July, up by $600/tonne since mid-June, according to data from ICIS.

The BD price spike was triggered by unplanned cracker outages in Taiwan.

BD spot prices have since fallen to $2,250-2,300/tonne CFR NE Asia in the week ended 3 August, according to ICIS.
