Shanxi Jintai Chlor-alkali to shut China PVC unit on 9 August

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanxi Jintai Chlor-alkali will shut its 100,000 tonne/year calcium carbide-based polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Yulin city on 9 August for five days of scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant in Shanxi province is currently running at full capacity, the source said.

Shanxi Jintai Chlor-alkali is currently offering PVC at yuan (CNY) 6,700 /tonne ($1,052/tonne) DEL (delivered) to XiAn city.

Spot PVC prices were assessed at CNY6,100-6,250/tonne EXW on 7 August, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
