SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Erdos Dianli Yejin plans to start up a 400,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in October at Erdos in Inner Mongolia, north China, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The company has invested yuan (CNY) 2.88bn ($452m) to build the PVC plant as well as a 300,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant at the same site, the source said.

The caustic soda plant is expected to start up at around the same time in October, the source added.

Construction work for both plants started in June 2010, according to the source.
