Chevron contains fire at Richmond refinery near San Francisco

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chevron on Monday night contained a fire at its Richmond refinery near San Francisco, US media reported on Tuesday.

Chevron confirmed that a fire broke out at the refinery’s 4 crude unit on Monday at around 18:15 San Francisco time.

One employee suffered a minor injury but all workers were safely accounted for, the company said.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.

According to ICIS, Chevron’s Richmond refinery has a processing capacity of about 245,000 bbl/day.
