China’s Keyuan Petrochemical starts commercial ops at SBS line

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Keyuan Petrochemical has started commercial operation at the second production line of its 70,000 tonne/year styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) plant, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We completed the trial production and comprehensive tests at the beginning of August and now we achieved commercial operation [at the second SBS line],” the source said.

The combined nameplate capacity of the two lines is 70,000 tonnes/year though the source declined to specify the capacity of individual lines.

The first line of the SBS plantwas completed in September 2011 and commercial operation was acehived in January this year, the source said.

The first line had produced 13,049 tonnes of SBS as of June 2012, the source added.

Keyuan Petrochemical, located in Ningbo of Zhejiang province, east China, is an independent manufacturer and supplier of various petrochemical products.
