HOUSTON (ICIS)--INVISTA has acquired several intellectual property rights relating to purified terephthalic acid (PTA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and other process technologies from Spain’s La Seda for an undisclosed sum, the US-based polymers and fibres firm said on Wednesday.

The deal includes full rights to exclusively license the technologies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, INVISTA said.

“As a result of the acquisition, INVISTA can now offer its customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa the same rapid, direct route to licensing that its customers in the rest of the world have always experienced,” the company said.
