LONDON (ICIS)--European styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) August contract prices have increased by €50-60/tonne ($62-74/tonne) because of increased feedstock butadiene (BD) and styrene costs, sources said on Wednesday.
The price of 1500 grade SBR is at €2,160-2,260/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE). The 1723 grade SBR settled at €2,050-2,100/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE), while the price of 1783 grade SBR is at €2,000-2,050/tonne FD NWE.
Demand is subdued because of the August holiday season and also because demand from the tyre industry has fallen significantly this year.
