HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based KBR will sell more of Shell's refinery technology, the company said on Wednesday.
KBR will now market and sell Shell Global Solutions' deep-flash, high-vacuum-unit-distillation technology and its thermal-conversion technology, KBR said.
Deep cut vacuum distillation can increase distillate recovery from residues, KBR said.
Thermal conversion technology can convert heavier fractions into more valuable products, the company said.
Already, KBR sells Shell's hydrocracking and hydrotreating technology, it said.
“The addition of these technologies enables us to better address refiners’ long-term needs for margin improvement, while continuing to meet environmental requirements," according to a statement by John Derbyshire, president of KBR Technology.
