SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Haili Chemical Industry plans to shut a 75,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) line at Shandong province in mid-August for about 20 days for maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

“We have a few deals to finish, so the line will continue to produce [ADA] until 15 August ,” the source said.

The company operates three ADA lines at its Shandong plant, each with 75,000 tonnes/year of capacity.

The firm shut one of the lines in early July and shut another ADA line at the plant late last week, according to the source.

All three lines at the plant are expected to restart in September, the source said without specifying a timeline.

Meanwhile, the company’s plan to start up its new first-phase 150,000 tonne/year ADA plant at Jiangsu on 18 August might be postponed, the source said without elaborating further.
