SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BDI BioEnergy International’s period earnings fell by 70% year on year to €300,000 ($370,370) in the second quarter of this year, amid a drop in overall sales, the Austria-based biofuels firm said on Thursday.
Its overall sales fell by 4.3% year on year to €8.8m in the second quarter, while earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) slumped by 87% to €200,000, the company said in a statement.
For the first six months of this year, the company’s period earnings was down by 62% year on year at €900,000, while its sales fell by 13% to €15.2m, BDI said.
Its EBIT fell by 84% year on year to €400,000 in January-June 2012, the company added.
