SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan VCM (TVCM) plans to shut its 410,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant in Kaohsiung in the second half of August for a two-week turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.

The maintenance period is expected to last until early September, the source added.

As a result, TVCM has to build up its inventory and is unable to offer spot cargoes for August and September shipments, according to the source.
