SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Urumqi Petrochemical, a fully owned subsidiary of PetroChina, is in the process of restarting its 1m tonne/year paraxylene (PX) plant in Xinjiang province, a company source said on Thursday.
“The unit is currently restarting from the [three-week] maintenance and the exact run rate at this point of time remains unknown,” said the source.
The facility, which can also produce around 375,000 tonnes/year of benzene, was shut for maintenance from 17 July.
