Europe August styrene CRP settles at €1,375/tonne, up €135/tonne

LONDON (ICIS)--The European August styrene contract reference price (CRP) has been settled at €1,375/tonne ($1,698/tonne), up by €135/tonne from the previous month, one consumer said on Thursday.

The increase of €135/tonne was in line with the August barge contract settlement agreed earlier in the month.

Despite a slowdown in activity, styrene prices this month have been supported by higher feedstock costs as well as some tightness owing to restricted imports coming into Europe from the US.

The contract was agreed on a free carrier (FCA) Rotterdam basis.
