SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Hanwha Chemical Corp will shut its 80,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant in Ulsan for maintenance in September, a company source said on Friday.

The plant will remain off line for about two weeks starting from 10 September, the source said.

The company is currently low on inventory but was building up stocks for the shutdown period, the source added.

However, PA supply will continue during the plant’s turnaround but at reduced volumes, the source said.
