S Korea’s KP Chemical to shut three PET lines in October

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--KP Chemical, South Korea’s largest polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chip producer, is planning to shut three PET lines in Ulsan in October for maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The three lines with capacities totalling 940 tonnes/day will be shut in October for two and half to three weeks for maintenance, according to the source.

The source did not provide further details about the current operating rates of the lines and the exact date for the shutdown.

Other South Korean PET makers include TK Chemical and SK Chemical.
