SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia’s PT Petrowidada plans to shut its 70,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant at East Java, Gresik, from next week for regular maintenance, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The plant will be taken off line on 13 August and will be restarted on 22 August, the source added.
The shut down will not have any impact on the supply of the material from the company as PT Petrowidada had set aside some inventory ahead of the turnaround, the source said.
The plant was shut for a month in September-October last year for a catalyst change.
Other producers in the region include South Korean Aekyung Petrochemical and Taiwanese Nan Ya Plastics.
