LONDON (ICIS)--Vinnolit plans to expand paste polyvinyl chloride (PVC) capacities at its site near Cologne, Germany, by 50,000 tonnes/year, the Germany-based chemicals firm said on Friday.

The expansion, planned for 2014, will raise Vinnolit’s overall specialty PVC capacities to 520,000 tonnes/year.

"With this step, we set another milestone in our strategy to expand our leading position in the field of specialty PVC," said Vinnolit managing director Josef Ertl.

Vinnolit said that markets in eastern Europe, Turkey, China, India and Brazil offered growth opportunities for its specialty PVC products.
