SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry is currently running its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) plant at Yinchuan at a reduced capacity of around 60% because of high inventory, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant in Ningxia province was restarted last week after completing a turnaround, which began on 5 July, the source said without stating the exact date when production resumed at the plant.

The low run rate at the plant is not expected to have a major impact on the domestic market amid poor demand, market sources said.

POM, also known as polyoxymethylene and polyformaldehyde, is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts.
