SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Liaoning Huajin Tongda Chemicals plans to restart its crude distillation unit (CDU) at Panjin in Liaoning province in early September when its turnaround ends, a company source said on Tuesday.

The 5m tonne/year CDU was shut on 2 August for a scheduled maintenance and capacity expansion, according to the source.

Its new capacity will be increased to 6m tonne/year when it goes on line after the expansion, the source added.

However, the unit’s increased capacity will have no impact on the market because the company supplies its gasoline and diesel output mainly to PetroChina. Its spot supply remains minimal.

Liaoning Huajin Tongda Chemicals is a subsidiary of the Liaoning Huajin Chemical Industry Group.
