SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has decided to export about 25,000 tonnes of Group II base oils to China in August, almost three times the export volume in July, a company source said on Tuesday.
The company’s contract cargoes to China rose because of rising demand in the Chinese market.
FPCC also supplied spot volumes of mainly N500 Group II base oils to China though the exact volume was not immediately known.
The company had previously planned to halt spot supplies to China in August in view of the ongoing maintenance of its 600,000 tonne/year base oil plant in Mailiao.
FPCC will supply a total of 45,000 tonnes of Group II base oils to the international market in August. All of these volumes were produced at its 600,000 tonne/year plant at Mailiao in Taiwan.
