BUCHAREST (ICIS)--Romania’s largest fertilizer producer Azomures posted a 1.47% year-on-year rise in its 2012 first-half net profit to New Lei 165.6m ($45m, €36.5m), it said on Tuesday.
Net sales in the January-June period was New Lei 1.01bn, up 4.6% year on year, the company added without offering further details.
In June, Swiss grain and fertilizer trader Ameropa Holding finalised its acquisition of Azomures, now owning 96.42% of the fertilizer producer.
Azomures has ammonium nitrate (AN) and calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) units, both of which produce about 300,000 tonnes/year.
It also produces urea, complex nitrogen phosphorous potassium (NPK) fertilizers and melamine.
