Japan’s Nissan Chemical restarts melamine plant, runs at 70-80%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Nissan Chemical Industries is running its 50,000 tonne/year melamine unit at Toyama at around 70-80% of capacity after restarting it last week, a company source said on Wednesday.

The unit was shut on 23 June for an annual maintenance and was restarted on 8 August, the source added.

The company is now trying to build up inventory levels, the source said.
