SINGAPORE(ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Shen Hua Chemical Industrial is planning to shut its 180,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant at Nantong, Jiangsu province, on 4 October for regular maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant will likely be off line for up to three weeks, the source said.
Currently, the plant is running at 90% of capacity, the source said, adding that the company will cut its operating rate further in September on the back of weak demand and high feedstock butadiene (BD) cost.
Shen Hua Chemical Industrial is located at Nantong Economic & Technological Development Zone at Nantong, Jiangsu province. It is a joint venture among Polybus Pte Limited (a subsidiary of TSRC Corp), Marubeni Corp and Nantong Petro-Chemical Corp.By: MK Liu
