TOKYO (ICIS)-- Japan’s imports of naphtha for ethylene production increased by 25% to 1.24m tonnes in July from the previous month, official data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Wednesday.
The value of the country’s naphtha imports for ethylene production rose 12% month on month to $1.08bn in July, according to the ministry.
The average cost of naphtha was $869.5/tonne (€704.2/tonne) in July, an 11% decrease from June, according to the METI data.
