BRISBANE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) on 15 August shut its 60,000 tonne/year polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plant at Nantong, in China's Jiangsu province, for planned maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit was slated to restart around 30 August following the turnaround but the maintenance has now been extended to last a month, the source said without elaborating further.

Other PMMA manufacturers in Asia include South Korea’s LG MMA, Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical, France’s Arkema and Taiwan’s Chi Mei.
