SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s top oil refiner Sinopec plans to restart its base oils plant at Jinan in Shandong province in September after completing upgrading and expansion works at the unit, a company source said on Friday.
The plant was shut in January this year, the source said.
Upon restart, the plant’s capacity will increase by half to 150,000 tonne/year, and will shift production to Group II base oils from Group I previously, the source said.
On-spec Group II output – primarily N500, N150 and BS150 – at the unit is expected to be achieved in October, the source said.
