China’s Daqing Petrochemical starts up new HDPE/LLDPE swing plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Daqing Petrochemical on 19 August started up at a new 250,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene/linear low density polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE) swing plant at Daqing City in Heilongjiang province, a company source said on Monday.

The company has begun trial production of LLDPE at the new swing plant, the source said.

Daqing Petrochemical has shut its 200,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at the same site to supply feedstock to the plant for the trial runs, the source added.

The company has another new 300,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene/linear low density polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE) swing plant at the same site which is expected to be started up next month.
