Russia's January-July fertilizer, plastics output down year on year

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of fertilizers and plastics decreased in the first seven months of 2012 compared with the corresponding period last year, the country’s statistical agency Rosstat said on Monday.

In the January-July period, the country's total output of mineral fertilizers was down by 1.4% year on year to 10.8m tonnes, according to the agency.

Ammonia production was 3.5% down year on year at 8.1m tonnes, the agency added.

Meanwhile, the country's total output of plastics in the January-July period was down by 2.5% year on year at 3.1m tonnes.

However, synthetic rubber production was 1% up year on year at 849,000 tonnes, Rosstat said.
