SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC will shut its No 3 paraxylene (PX) and orthoxylene (OX) unit located in Kaohsiung on 24-25 August for a 40-day planned turnaround, a company sources said on Tuesday.

The unit has a nameplate capacity of 260,000 tonnes/year of PX and 40,000 tonnes/year of OX.

“The PX/OX unit will be taken off line once the No 2 PX/OX line runs smoothly,” the source added.

The No 2 PX/OX line located at the same site was restarted on 18 August following a brief turnaround.
