SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Danhua Chemical Technology expects to start commercial operations at its new 200,000 tonne/year coal-based monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in end-August or early September, a company source said on Wednesday.

Trial runs at the plant located at Puyang in Henan province were completed on 21 August, the company said in a statement.

“The trial run was stable and we expect the commercial operation will start soon,” said the company source.

Construction of the plant started in September 2010 and was completed in March 2012.
