SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s caprolactam (capro) imports in July increased 28.7% month on month, market sources said on Wednesday.

The country imported 58,049 tonnes of capro in July, 12,391 tonnes higher than in June, according to China Customs data.

The average price of the May capro imports were at $2,395/tonne (€1,921/tonne), down by 7.4% month on month, the data showed.

Derivative downstream nylon demand remained poor on the back of China’s slowing economy, market players said.
