SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Germany’s SGL Group said on Thursday it will supply China-based Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co with a recovery system which will enable the recycling and re-use of hydrochloric acid (HCl).

The contract, valued at more than €20m ($25m), will see SGL Group delivering the system until the end of 2013, the company said in a statement.

“Thereafter, Qinghai Salt Lake will be able to recycle and re-use HCl, which is accumulated in liquid form at various steps of the magnesium smelting and chemical manufacturing process,” it added.
