China’s Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals restarts BPA unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals (SSMC) restarted its 120,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) unit at Caojing in Shanghai on 22 August, a company source said.
The plant was shut for maintenance on 18 August because of an equipment problem, the source said.
The plant has resumed normal production, the source added without specifying the operating rate.
SSMC is a joint venture between China’s Sinopec and Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals.By: Jenny Yi
