LONDON (ICIS)--Germany-based BASF has expanded its adhesive coatings operations at its Ludwigshafen headquarters with the addition of a new laboratory coating and laminating facility, the chemicals giant said on Thursday.
The new facility will focus on the development of adhesive coatings for flexible packaging, labels, tapes and functional film coatings. It is expected to reduce time to market, increase the capacity for customer tests and speed up the development of new products, according to the company.
BASF said that it invests €800,000 ($1m) per year in the maintenance and modernisation of its adhesive coatings facilities.
