HOUSTON (ICIS)--Argentina’s July chemical production was up by 1.2% year on year, industry sources said on Friday.
Production of basic chemical products was up by 13.9% in July 2012 compared with the same month of the previous year, said Argentina’s Statistics Institute (INDEC). The institute does not provide tonnage figures for production.
Production of industrial gases was down in July by 9.2%, the group said.
Production of plastic raw materials and synthetic rubber was up by 9.2% in July.
Agrochemicals production declined by 7.8% in July, while production of pharmaceutical products went down by 2.3%.
Production of detergents, soaps and personal products rose in July by 10.2%.
Meanwhile, plastic products and rubber tyres production combined increased by 8.4%.
Rubber tyre production was up by 18.8%, while July production of plastic products increased by 6.2%, INDEC said.
