SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Lucite International is planning to shut its 120,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant at Jurong Island in Singapore for a turnaround toward the end of September, a company source said on Friday.

The company will shut the plant for around three weeks and will begin production early to mid-October.

The company uses ethylene, carbon monoxide and methanol as feedstock.

Lucite International is a subsidiary of Japanese producer Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC), which is one of the largest MMA producers in Asia.
