Southeast Asia July base oil exports to China fall 35% from June

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Southeast Asia exported 35% less base oils to China in July amid a slowing down in the Chinese economy, market sources said on Friday.

Official data showed that China received a total of 58,410 tonnes of base oils from the region last month, with Singapore accounting for more than 90% of the total.

Base oils shipments from Singapore stood at 53,339 tonnes, while those from Thailand and Malaysia were at 3,094 and 1,968 tonnes, respectively. From Indonesia, China received 9 tonnes of base oils in July, according to China Customs data.

No breakdown of base oil grades was available.
