HOUSTON (ICIS)--Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for export from Colombia in September is being proposed at a slight increase because of rising feedstock costs and demand, sources said on Friday.
Colombian PVC for export is being offered at $1,080-1,100/tonne (€864-880/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) South America except Brazil.
September offers are up from $1,070-1,090/tonne CFR South America except Brazil in August.
July PVC was quoted lower at $980-1,000/tonne CFR South America except Brazil.
Colombian PVC export prices for Latin America have been steadily rising since July, supported by increasing resin demand as participants replenished inventories depleted earlier when resin prices were declining.
Although increases are planned for Colombian exports next month, PVC prices for September domestic business have not been issued, according to regional participants.
PVC domestic prices in Colombia for August rolled over from July at $1,140/tonne DEL (delivered) for pipe grade and $1,160-1,180/tonne DEL for general purpose.
Sources in Colombia said demand from domestic and export markets remains healthy.
The domestic PVC producer in Colombia is Mexichem.
