S Korea's Kumho to shut styrenic units in October for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea's Kumho Petrochemical Corp (KKPC) plans to shut its styrenic units in ?xml:namespace>Ulsan for maintenance in October, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.
“The shutdown is likely to commence in mid October and will last for around 10 days,” the source added.
KKPC operates a 250,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) unit, a 50,000 tonne/year styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) and a 200,000 tonne/year polystyrene (PS) unit.
Other styrenics producers in South Korea include LG Chem, Cheil Samsung and BASF.
