Swiss Syngenta to buy DuPont's insecticide business for $125m

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Syngenta has agreed to acquire the professional products insecticide business of US producer DuPont for $125m (€100m), the Switzerland agrobusiness firm said on Wednesday.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2012, the company said in a statement.

“The acquisition will expand the range of products which Syngenta offers to golf course and lawn care professionals and to ornamental growers, and will also strengthen its portfolio for the control of home pests,” Syngenta said.
