SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indian major Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has ramped up the operating rate at its 900,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) facility in Jamnagar to full capacity, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant was operating at 70% of capacity for four days last week because of technical issues, which were resolved on 26 August, the source said.

“From Monday, the plant is running at 100%,” the source said, adding the production loss did not affect the company’s inventory level.

The company’s other PP plants in India are currently running at full rates, the source added. RIL’s total PP production capacity in India is 2.7m tonnes/year.

The Jamnagar-based PP unit is dedicated for the export market, the source said.
