SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PETRONAS Chemicals Group's (PCG) 400,000 tonne/year ethylene glycol (EG) plant in Kerteh, Terengganu in Malaysia is currently shut and is expected to be restarted over the weekend, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The EG plant was shut late last week, but the source did not comment on the reason for the shutdown.

The plant’s output mainly caters to the domestic market as PCG is the only MEG producer in Malaysia.
