Oil, gas production begins to resume in US Gulf

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Offshore oil and gas operators in the US Gulf of Mexico continued to restore production following Hurricane Isaac, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said on Tuesday.

Some 51.51% of the US Gulf’s daily oil production was shut in on Tuesday, compared with 94.81% on Friday.

Shut-in natural gas production was 29%, compared with 68.34% on Friday.

Only 21 oil and gas platforms remained evacuated, compared with 83.7% of the 596 manned platforms on Friday.
