SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem has shut its 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2EH-A) unit located at Naju during the week ended 31 August for its annual maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The 2EH-A unit that is able to produce about 25,000 tonne/year was shut last week for maintenance for about 25 days, and is expected to restart in late September, the source said.

There is currently limited availability for 2-EHA cargoes for the spot market, partly because of the shutdown, the source added.

The company is currently operating its 30,000 tonne/year 2-EHA plant in Yeosu at full capacity, the source said.
