Foster Wheeler wins work for 1.5m tonne/year MEG plant in Qatar

LONDON (ICIS)--Foster Wheeler has won a contract from Shell for work on a planned 1.5m tonne/year mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) facility in Qatar, the international petrochemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.

Foster Wheeler said that it will develop a basic engineering package for the MEG plant which will be part of a petrochemicals complex Shell and Qatar Petroleum are planning in Ras Laffan.

Financial details and timelines for construction or completion were not disclosed.

Foster also worked on a Shell MEG plant in Singapore that opened in 2009.
