HOUSTON (ICIS)--Williams plans to resume production this week at it olefins facility at Geismar, Louisiana, following several days of maintenance work, the US-based energy and petrochemicals firm said on Wednesday.

Williams said that the work was not related to Hurricane Isaac. The company has 612,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity in Geismar.

As for Isaac, Williams said that the onshore and offshore assets in the eastern and central Gulf of Mexico it had shut down prior to the hurricane received no major damage, and are in the process of returning to normal operations.

William’s Mobile Bay gas processing plant is ready to begin operations as soon as producer volumes increase and a third-party natural gas liquid (NGL) pipeline becomes available, it added.

Williams’ onshore and offshore assets in the western Gulf of Mexico were not affected by Isaac and continue to operate normally, the company said.
