SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China-based Suntech Power Holdings has signed a contract to supply approximately 26 megawatts (MW) of monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels to German photovoltaic plants provider S.A.G. Solarstrom, a company source from Suntech said on Thursday.

Both companies signed the contract on 5 September. The 26MW solar panels will be used for S.A.G. Solarstrom’s new power plants in Germany, the source said.

"We are pleased to continue our strong working relationship with S.A.G. Solarstrom," said Vedat Gurgeli, vice-president of sales and marketing at Suntech in Europe.

Suntech, a large producer of silicon solar modules, was founded in 2001 by China’s solar scientist Dr. Zhengrong Shi. It was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005 and has offices in 13 countries.

S.A.G. Solarstrom provides PV power plant services and is based in Freiburg, Germany.
