LONDON (ICIS)--Polynt Group plans to restart its maleic anhydride (MA) plant in Ravenna, Italy early next week, the company said on Thursday.
The Italy-based producer declared force majeure on MA supply from the 65,000 tonne/year plant on 22 August citing technical problems after a planned shutdown.
“We will lift the force majeure only once production levels will have reached comfortable levels,'' Luca Bielli, Polynt's sales director said in a statement.
European MA spot trade in southern Europe has been brisk as a result of the Polynt plant closure, according to traders. MA liquid spot business in southern Europe was heard at about €1,500/tonne FD (free delivered) and MA flake at €1,680-1,700/tonne FD, market sources said.
