HOUSTON (ICIS)--Nearly 43% of oil production in the US Gulf of Mexico remains shut in, a government agency said on Thursday.
For natural gas, 21.28% remains shut in, according to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.
Producers had evacuated personnel from oil and natural gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico in preparation for Hurricane Isaac. Out of the 596 platforms in the Gulf, 10 remain evacuated, the bureau said.
