HOUSTON (ICIS)--A subsidiary of US-based Chemtura has started up its expanded methylaluminoxane production at its Bergkamen plant in Germany, the company said on Thursday.
The additional manufacturing capacity for the company’s AXION product came on-stream in July as scheduled, said Chemtura Organometallics.
“This expansion, as well as the ongoing enhancements of our global supply chain capabilities, will further increase the security of supply for our customers’ high-growth engineered-polymer projects,” said Ulrich Stewen, general manager of Chemtura and president of Chemtura Organometallics.
The methylaluminoxane is based on onsite trimethylaluminum feedstock production, Chemtura said.
Chemtura did not disclose expansion capacities or financing for the project.
